Jacobsen Ranch is based in Le Grand, California approximately 45 minutes North of Fresno in the agriculture-rich, San Joaquin Valley. We maintain a flock of approximately 60 Montadale and Suffolk brood ewes and wether type brood ewes. The ewes have been selected based on mothering and milking ability, longevity, and structural soundness. Utilizing our lush irrigated pastures, all sheep are kept on pastures and must be easy keeping.
Our Montadale bloodlines trace back to Lundeen Montadales and Lois Lance where we started in the early 1990’s. In recent years, we have added select brood ewes from Weston Farms, Kuykendall Montadales, Ryan Montadales, and most recently, Ekern Montadales. Only a few select stud rams have been used outside of our flock including Northstar Farms, Baugh & Dunn, and Ekern Montadales.
Our Suffolk bloodlines trace back to Jack Larsen, George Brothers, Gamble Suffolks, Airoso Suffolks, Freitas Suffolks, Bar-Zel Suffolks, Pleasant Valley Suffolks, and most recently Quam Suffolks. The foundation females started in 1970 with Panoka (Canada) genetics from Harold Jacobsen.
We are extremely excited about our lamb crop this year. Lambs are growthy, and correct with lots of bone, muscle, style, and breed character that will be great mothers and will be successful in the show ring.Contact us early in the year for the best selection. We can arrange transportation to most of the major shows and sales throughout the United States.
Along with our own Montadales and Suffolks, you can find Cody on the roads across the United States exhibiting and fitting sheep for Eldridge Cheviots and Romneys, Seals Corriedales and Shropshires, R.A.M. Hampshires, Stony Point Dorsets, and Green River Farms.
